All you need to do is turn on the hotspot on your phone and you're good to go. Tethering works slightly differently depending on your phone, but you can enable this in your phone settings.

Note: giffgaff allows tethering on all of our plans. It’s worth remembering that any data you use while you’re tethering gets taken out of your allowance/credit as normal, so stick to low-bandwidth activities and make sure that you have data in your plan or credit on your account.
